At I Bùgianèn we like to call it merenda sinoira
The Piedmontese dictionary defines merenda sinoira as “the meal between lunch and dinner,” and like many other traditions it has peasant origins. In the fields, especially during the summer, it was customary to bring a cloth with bread, cheese and cured meats to be eaten in the afternoon together with a good glass of red wine.

A good glass of Nizza or an Americano Cocchi paired with Borgo Affinatori cheeses and a selection of Luiset cured meats. Our terrace is the perfect escape from the monotony of the city center. An aperitif on the Viatosto hill, just 5 minutes from town, to eat and drink something good while enjoying the beautiful Asti landscape.

Even for the aperitif we wanted to stay tied to our beloved territory. You can choose bottles and wines by the glass from our all-Piedmont wine list, or if you prefer a drink, you will find a small selection of Asti-style twists on the great aperitif classics.

Each order will be served with a small plate of chips and olives, while if you want something more substantial you can order separately boards of cured meats and cheeses or some typical starters from the local tradition.

Tuesdays and Sundays
Every Tuesday and Sunday the trattoria is closed in the evening, so you can enjoy an aperitif on the terrace. No reservation is required, but if you like you can let us know at +39 389 786 7988.
